OLD YEAR'S NIGHT, THEN AND NOW

Back in November of 1971 when I first arrived on the shores of Jost van Dyke, Foxy informed me that he usually held a New Years Eve Party, and as the new Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, I wondered what I was in for. He told me that he would roast a pig underground 'luau style' that he’d picked up from a guy who lived in St Thomas & that I didn’t have to worry about that. I just had to cook something to go along with it. From One Island Girl to Another...

I clearly remember meeting Tessa for the first time.  I had heard about her from my fellow artisans in the islands.  Other artists, jewelry makers, photographers who were creating island gifts to sell in the island resorts.  Tessa's boutique was already renowned as one of the best boutiques in the Caribbean.

Hempfest 2018 at Foxy's BVI

    FOXYS HEMPFEST – the first ever in the BVI – was GREAT! A total new vibe was experienced with local vendors of locally made and packaged products showing their wares in Foxy’s Upper Crust, while local musical artists and speakers were featured onstage.  Many visitors from Tortola attended as did others from St Thomas and St John. It was really a very Local Event. Patrons bought t-shirts touting sayings such as , ‘GROW LOCAL’    ‘BUY LOCAL’ ‘SMOKE LOCAL’ ‘LEGALISE IT’ along with graphics of all the things that can be produced from hemp.  The idea is obviously to bring it to the attention of local politicians that the time has come and that, given the impending destruction of our...
